Looking For The Perfect Berry...

This past Friday morning, Kim and I were most excited to find that the Hilltop Farms sign was out and the strawberries were ready! For as long as we can remember, every year, my mom would take us out to the strawberry field and we would pick berries. Well, we decided to do it again this year. Only with us this time...we had a 3 year old! Wowie, wow, wow!

So, Kim, Brady, Barney the Purple Dinosaur and I went out into the field to fill our boxes with the delicious berries. They were perfect for the picking! Much to my suprise, two of the girls that I used to babysit are now the Hilltop Farm Strawberry Seller girls! Oh my!

It didn't take us long at all! Kim worked on a box for herself, another one for her in-laws and I worked on one for us and then another for Keely and Dad and Diane. Brady worked on finding and picking the perfect berries for our row neighbors! He had absolutely no interest in helping fill our boxes, but he was more than willing to help fill theirs. It was a mother and son, who was about 10, who pretty much fell in love with Brady from the word go, so they thought it was fantastic! He spent almost an hour filling their boxes with red strawberries, pine cones, straw, green berries, leaves and anything else he could find. He was very proud of himself for being so helpful! He even convinced both of them to hug and kiss Barney during our picking fun!

The yummy berries made a wonderful topping for Hannah's 10th birthday cake we had last night! If you have time, and they are still picking...go! They're worth it!
